It all started with sports, when I attended a training of Robin Hertscheck in Munich. He was offering free functional training for charity. He told us about his project in a small village in Kilifi, Kenya. Collecting money and things they needed down there such as clothes and medicine, he flew there twice a year and not only brought these donations, but most important helped the village in their development. In order to help themselves, Robin organized and built up chicken farms and house facilities for the families, so they could for example breed more chicken, then sell them to buy something for the kids...just like one mother did after the chicken population had grown.
Having a mother, that was born and partly raised in Africa and myself having been to Kenya and South Africa, the richness of the people is huge....their hearts carry so much warmth, that I could only imagine from my previous trips, how the kids in Kilifi and their families would welcome us.
Therefore I dedicated myself to this project and want to help these families and I am sure, that many more people would like to contribute to these kind of charity organizations, just not knowing whom to support being so many large organizations out there, of which you don't know what they do and if the donations really reach the people that need it.
Since I have been following this project since beginning 2017, I can surly confirm that each and every cent goes directly to the families.
In 2019 my friend Natasha and myself will spend almost 2 weeks with the families and already know, that every help they can get is needed. For example the chicken population has grown so fast,
that we need to build a new stable, not only for more chickens, but also for a cow.
One mother's house broke down, which in this case needs to be torn off and rebuilt. Even solar panels might be fixed to some of the roofs....simply everything that helps the families to take care
of themselves and not only waiting for the next money delivery!
