I started writing a few years ago, actually in 2011 when I was travelling in India with my mum. The travel agency offered a free online blog, where I could login and write from anywhere. So in India I went to the smallest cafes that had computers, where I could sit and write whatever came to my mind. Then it wasn't important to me to really share my memories with many people, I simply wanted to keep the experiences for my mum and I. So I think, that the written lines also reflect the intention I had at that time.
Since it was fun writing, I continued with some of my trips, that followed. My intention had changed maybe also because I was travelling a lot with friends and we wanted to capture pictures and memories in photo books. There will hardly be some details of places or restaurants for example in Costa Rica or Barbados, at least not seamlessly documented. In Malaysia was another changing point....I wanted to share some of my reports with other travellers, but you rarely meet international travellers that speak German, unless they are German. In the middle of my trip I started writing in English, which of course is also my mother tongue, so I decided to leave the report of Malaysia the way it is because it's part of the evolving style of my writing.
When I started this website for myself, the first report after setting up this page was Andalucía. I wanted to share most of the details and places I visited together with my room mate and friend Caro. There were less personal lines, which I discovered with my travel to Brazil, that sometimes sharing thoughts and feelings while travelling makes the special thing about it. So my report on Brazil has the best of both I think.
As everything in life, intentions and plans change....so did my style of writing.
